Wills: guidance on choosing your executor
Your executor is the person or organisation that will distribute your estate and carry out the wishes you have recorded in your Will.
It is always a good idea to have more than one executor in case the named person cannot undertake the role, or does not wish to.
An executor can be a person you trust, or a professional or organisation.
If you have a partner, many people choose their partner as the primary executor. However, this is entirely your decision.

Some will writing companies will include or appoint themselves as executors in your will. These always come with additional fees that may not be transparent to you. We do not support or follow this practice. Our view is you should be able to select an executor of your choosing for this important role, taking into account potential fees, qualifications, and services provided.
