why add social media accounts to adeus?

Social Media accounts are generally online platforms provided by companies like Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Snap, and other similar platforms. 

Social media platforms allow you to share ideas and information virtually with individuals and communities. Depending on the platform, you can share information, photos, stories, expertise and other ‘content’ that you create with other users on the platform. The ‘social’ side of social media allows you to chat, reply and message with other users.

Social Media accounts are different than Digital and Online accounts in terms of:

  • How you use them
  • Importance and personal value of the information you upload and store there
  • The way your nominated contact can gain access after your passing.

Some social media platforms already allow users to create legacy contacts or key holders (legacy keyholders) by following a few simple steps in your account. This is an evolving space with more platforms adding this capability following the likes of Facebook and Apple.
