Do you want to appoint a guardian?

The following is a transcript of the voice guidance in the adeus Digital Will generator.

If you have a child or children under the age of 18 years, it's really important you nominate someone as their guardian.

A guardian is the person you nominate who will take parental responsibility for your child if they are minors at your death. (A minor in England & Wales is a person under 18 years old.)

Nominating a guardian does not create a legal obligation, the guardian will be decided by the courts, taking your wishes into account. This is protection for your children in case there is a change in circumstances as a result of the passage of time after you nominated the guardian.

This is a really important decision, so we recommend you search our adeus Help Centre for guidance on choosing a guardian, and ideas for supporting the guardian so they can care for your child according to your wishes.
