attestation clause (def.)

The short paragraph at the end of a Will, immediately above the signatures, which records that the Will was signed by you in the presence of two witnesses who then signed in your presence.

It is not strictly required by law, but including it means the Will is presumed to have been signed correctly, which makes obtaining probate more straightforward. Every adeus Will includes one.
